João Carlos Perdigão was born in the municipality of Torres Vedras. He is a student at the Luís António Maldonado Rodrigues School of Music, where he attended the basic Gregorian Chant course and the secondary course in Music Education. He completed his degree in Music, specializing in Choral Conducting and Music Education, at the Lisbon School of Music. He has a postgraduate degree in Music Therapy from ESNECA School . He is currently studying for a Master's degree in Music Education and Ensemble Music at the Castelo Branco School of Applied Arts. He is also studying for a Master's degree in Choral Conducting at the Lisbon School of Music.

He is dedicated to musical writing, having already composed some works for mixed choir, male choir and choir with instrumental ensemble. He is the author of the collection Sebentas de Formação Musical ( Musical Training Notes), published in 2020, Ditados de Formação Musical (Musical Training Dictations), published in 2021 and 2022, and Ditados de Formação Musical - Excertos Orquestrais (Orchestral Excerpts), published in 2023. These projects that he conceived and created aimed to respond to the needs felt in the teaching of the subject of Musical Training.

He taught at the Conservatory of Music of Physics of Torres Vedras between 2008 and 2023. He is a teacher of the subjects of Musical Formation and Ensemble Class – Choir at the Academy of Music of Óbidos.

As a Choral Director, he has collaborated with numerous groups on various projects. In 2008, he founded the Dona Maria II Chapel Choir . He is a founding member of the VERITAS Choir . He formed the Vetera Vox Male Choir in May 2016 and has since taken on its artistic direction. He is the principal conductor of the ESSA Choir – Escola Salesiana do Estoril and the Stella Matutina Choir of the Évora Cathedral. He regularly collaborates with the Voces Splendentes Choir and the ECCE Choir. He has been a member and artistic director of the Capella Vocale Magnificat since the beginning of its formation.
